During our Temples of the Sun & Moon tour we'll stay in local inns, and Bed & Breakfasts as we travel from site to site.
Our tour size is limited to 12 or fewer people.
The price of the tour is inclusive of the services of the director, lodging, breakfasts, ground & ferry transportation, and entrance fees.
Day One
Our group will meet at Glasgow International Airport by noon, departing immediately for our initial destination. We travel up along the leafy shores of Loch Lomond staying
locally. In the evening we'll gather to preview our route through the Highlands and Islands.
Day Two
After breakfast we will journey on further north through the dramatic beauty of Glen Coe and Loch Ness wending our way through the Highlands.
Day Three
Today we embark for the Orkney Islands crossing by ferry, alighting in the port village of Stromness. We'll settle in the thriving town of Kirkwall.
Day Four
This morning we'll visit the stunning 5,000 year-old chambered cairn of Maes Howe. After lunch, the Ring of Brodgar, known as the Temple of the Sun, and the Stones of Stenness, the Temple of the Moon, await our arrival.
Day Five
Today we will journey to the island of South Ronaldsay to the cliff side Tomb of the Eagles on the family farm of the Simisons.
Day Six
We'll spend the morning touring St. Magnus Cathedral and the shops and museum of the village of Kirkwall, with free time this afternoon to explore on our own.
Day Seven
Skara Brae, the Neolithic settlement which was hastily abandoned 5000 years ago and uncovered by a storm in 1824 calls to us to explore. We'll also roam the awe-inspiring sea cliffs of Yesnaby teeming with exotic bird life above and seals below.
Day Eight
We board our luxury ferry to return to the Highlands of Scotland. Traveling across the moors, we'll clamber into the Camster Cairns and investigate the stone formations along the North Sea. We'll settle near Loch Ness for an evening.
Day Nine
The Clava Cairns and views of Loch Ness will be on our destination today. Clava is aligned with the Winter Solstice sunset, and we'll be able to dowse the intensely discernable energies at these cairns. Traveling south, we'll stay overnight near Scotland's largest mountain, Ben Nevis. A relaxing afternoon and quiet evening will prepare us for our return to Glasgow.
Day Ten
We bid farewell to the Highlands and return to Glasgow by afternoon.
Day Eleven
Flights home from Glasgow International, or further travels.
Should weather conditions or unforeseen occurrences intercede, we may adjust this schedule to provide the best possible sequence of events.
